Wanted: Homes for Cats from Large Scale Izumi Rescue

November 30, 2010

10/5
All cats have been evacuated from the filthy house in Izumi, and 17 are now under the care of ARK. Each has been neutered, dematted, deflead and dewormed. Ear cleaning is in progress. All tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and they are basically well apart from being too thin. A few have diarrhoea, but most are simply chronically undernourished.
It is overcrowded in ARK’s isolation rooms, and although the cats are in good spirits and getting along for the most part, not surprisingly, tempers do occasionally run thin. At least the Izumi cats are now in a stable, clean environment with a roof over their heads. They are receiving high quality food, fresh drinking water, not to mention plenty of TLC, but they deserve so much more. Are you able to offer any of these cats a good home?
Please feel free to contact ARK for more information. We look forward to hearing from you!

The cats are at best thin, at worst emaciated. Some have diarrhoea. All are being fed dry Hill’s i/d at the moment, to re-acclimatize their digestive systems to wholesome food, which they have been deprived of for so long. Supplies are running low! We would be grateful for any donations; please help if you can.

Wanted: Homes for Cats from Large Scale Izumi Rescue

A man who lived on his own and bred Maine Coon cats has recently been found dead in his ‘home’.
ARK was contacted, and our staff went out to take a look without delay. What we found there were dozens of cats living in squalor. Seemingly, outside cats had moved in, as a result of which most of the cats are mixed breed.

The cats are hungry and in poor physical condition, but most are friendly in spite of their ordeal, and we are hoping to find homes for as many as we possibly can. Unfortunately, ARK is full up at present, and we have no choice but to do our best to look after them at the house in Izumi. Once this house is sold, however, the cats must be moved out immediately: if we cannot find them alternative accommodation, the harsh reality is that there will be no choice but put them to sleep.

Please contact us urgently if you can offer even one of these cats a loving home.

Please do not hesitate to contact ARK for further information.
