Jolene was rescued as a stray and to be expected, she is pretty shy in general. That being said, she has made a lot of progress during her time at ARK so far and is very slowly coming out of her shell! She is great at making friends with the other cats around too. She is a gorgeous girl with lots of love to give, but it takes her some time to get used to people. Once she is familiar with you, she is gentle and can be quite affectionate. Food is a good motivator! One of her favourite places to hang out is in the kitty loft at ARK. Here, she carefully observes victims carrying treats and once she spots something yummy in your hand, will gradually make her way down and say hello! In fact, Jolene loves food so much, she will cry out at the door during feeding time, as if she is saying “Ummmm how long does it take to be fed around here?!” She may have her diva moments like this, but we love her for it and we think she deserves to be treated like the queen she truly is.
