Vale: Ouju Amemiya

On behalf of everyone at ARK, we would like to express deepest sympathy on the passing of Mr Ouju Amemiya.

Mr Amemiya, the owner of Gallery 80 in Omotesando, took a deep and personal interest in our work with animals. Gallery 80 hosted an annual exhibition of ARK photographs by photographer Kyoko Harada for three consecutive years from 2010.  Mr Amemiya’s understanding and support led to a wealth of goodwill. 

In the difficult times shortly after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake in 2011, we were profoundly moved when Mr Amemiya attended the exhibition and personally handed out ARK pamphlets to passers by. His friendship and warmth will be sadly missed by all. 

We would like to pay tribute to Mr Amemiya’s life and legacy and offer his family our sincere condolences. May he rest in peace.
