Consider Making a Bequest

Do you love animals? Would you like to help in a meaningful way? Would you like to secure a better future for animals?

If you answered “yes”, you may like to consider a bequest to ARK to help us continue to work for a brighter future for animals left with nowhere to go because of abuse, neglect or for many other reasons. Your bequest will make a concrete difference to animals in need.

What is a bequest?

A bequest is property left to a particular person or entity in another’s will. ARK is committed to using your bequest to directly benefit animals.

In order to leave a bequest, you will need to write a will. You may choose a “notarized will” or a handwritten one. Each has advantages and disadvantages, so we recommend that you discuss this important matter with a specialist – a lawyer, a tax accountant or a trust bank. If you do not have access to these, another option is to go to a notary public office or other professional. We are happy to help you find the right person or office.

Inheritance donations

When the benefactor of an estate leaves the assets he or she inherited from the decedent to a designated person or organization, it is known as an inheritance donation. Probate duties are not applicable when assets are left to an entity which complies to certain standards. If the entity holds Nintei status, the donation will be tax deductible.

※ Application must be made within ten months of the execution of the will. Please contact our main office if you need the relevant documents.
