Meet floppy eared Lope! Lope has come a long way since arriving at ARK in 2015. Having been locked up in a storage room to starve, it is understandable why he lacked trust in people and would cower and react easily. Since then, Lope has really begun to shine and he now loves going for walks with people and showing his sweet side. Although shy to start with, he will quickly warm up to you and show his playful side. He loves his relaxed walks and is fascinated by creatures like lizards, snakes and frogs! He also enjoys playing in the river. Lope has not gotten over his dislike of other dogs and cats, so he will need to be the only animal in the house. Due to a weak heart, we are trying to keep his running to a minimum but that doesn’t stop him making the most out of his time in the dog-run! He will sniff around and have a good time exploring.

Lope enjoys his food and loves treats. He will even do a sit and stay before receiving his meals, like the good boy that he is. In his kennel, you will often see him holding his favourite marrow bone with two paws and having a good nibble. Its very cute. We consider Lope’s floppy ears his “charm point” and we really hope visitors will witness for themselves, just how lovely Lope is. He just needs a little bit of time, that’s all!
