January 30, 2020

Our good friends at the Tokyo American Club have planned an auction if beautiful carpets with proceeds going to TELL and ARK!

A simple bid on a handwoven carpet may end up saving lives.

At this year’s annual Connections-organized Carpet Auction, net proceeds from purchases of exquisite, handmade carpets sourced by Eastern Carpets from artisans across the Middle East will go to an array of charities headlined by organizations serving two key communities.

TELL, a mental health support and counseling service, provides crucial bilingual services in its offices in Tokyo, Osaka and Okinawa. In addition to in-person treatment, TELL volunteers also answer calls and online chats as part of the Lifeline, a crisis hotline available seven days a week.

Proceeds from this year will also support Animal Refuge Kansai (ARK), a rehoming shelter for abandoned and rescued cats and dogs based outside Osaka.

Since 1991, founder Elizabeth Oliver, the small ARK staff and a brigade of volunteers have helped find new forever homes for thousands of pets across Japan.

What better way to decorate your home than with a piece of décor that will leave a lasting impact on so many lives?
