Noto Peninsula - reaching out to animals in need【6】

It has been 7 months since tragedy struck the Noto Peninsula.

On August 1, ARK staff brought 3 cats and a dog back to ARK in Nose from Ishikawa Prefecture. The cats’ owners have been able to stay in their home since the quake, but are suffering poor health and reached out for help finding a new owner. The dog’s owner had to move into an apartment after the earthquake, which the dog found rather stressful. All four animals will be available for adoption as soon as their initial health checks are complete.

The area these four animals came from suffered widespread liquification of road surfaces, making the rescue rather difficult – it was carried out at the very time surfaces were being repaired. Completing repairs seems likely to be some time off yet, but we at ARK truly hope we can continue to help animals in need from the affected areas.
