Animal Care Manager from Mayhew Animal Home Holds Lectures

Gillian Scott of the Mayhew Animal Home in London is visiting ARK for two weeks from March 14. We’ve set up some lectures to give people the chance to hear from someone actively working in animal welfare and veterinary medicine in Britain – one of the leading countries in animal welfare. The Mayhew Animal Home has an excellent reputation as an vet clinic and animal shelter all over the world. Although the content of the lectures is specialist in part, we welcome general members of the public to come along and learn more about animal behavior. There will be a dog participating in the demonstration as well.

About Gillian Scott
After earning a degree in psychology, Gillian started working at the RSPCA in 1996. She became formally qualified as a vet nurse in 1999. Her main role at the RSPCA was to train student vet nurse. In 2005, she began working at the Mayhew Animal Home as the Animal Care Manager and since then has become a core member of the team.

The Mayhew Animal Home was established in 1886 for the benefit of “the lost and starving dogs and cats of London so that they should have sanctuary from the cold inhumanity they are being dealt outside”. Today, The Mayhew is one of the busiest animal sanctuaries in London, rescuing thousands of animals from cruelty and neglect each year. We provide shelter and care for cats, dogs, rabbits and when the need arises, for a wide variety of other animals.
