“What a handsome boy!” is often one of the first things people say about Sayer. He certainly is gorgeous and what’s even better is his lovely personality. Being a former stray, he had a very difficult life, but since being rescued, has slowly blossomed into a loving and playful dog. Although his former life on the streets is behind him, he remains a little anxious towards new people and is still shy, but this is to be expected. The good news is that over time, he begins to relax, feel safe and learns to trust you. He has come miles, since his arrival to ARK and it’s been heartwarming for all of us to see him begin to play with us, run around the dog run, lie on top of your legs to ask for cuddles, or even jump on your back to ask to play!
Sayer loves to play with a ball and go on walks. He is very active and still a young puppy at heart! He is also a very good boy at the vets and will sit quietly and patiently while being groomed and shampooed. He is a little temperamental with other dogs, however this depends on how personalities match. He may do well with another dog in the home, but he will need some extra time to settle in. Sayer is very close with his brother Alden- who is also available for adoption, should you be interested in two pups!
With his former life behind him, Sayer is ready for a wonderful family to take him home and show him the unconditional love he so very deserves. We hope you’ll come visit soon!
