With his beaming smile, photogenic stances and cute colouring, Hokuto is one handsome boy! However, behind that smile, was once a dog who came to us under sad circumstances. Having had no experience of going on walks, nor receiving any affection or love from his former owner, it was understandable that Hokuto was very confused, wary and defensive when he arrived at ARK. Everything was a new experience with him, and it took us a long time to help him settle and begin to trust us. However, he began to warm up to us and even though he still has his stubborn moments, he has become quite affectionate. Considering his lack of walking experience, he was very quick to learn and now thoroughly enjoys his long strolls and walks very well on the lead. He will even look back at us as if to say “Can you please hurry up? We have places to go!” and it’s very cute. Another wonderful thing about Hokuto is his fondness for other dogs, so for families who already have a dog, please apply as well! After all Hokuto has been through, he certainly deserves a chance at his very own happily ever after.
