Letter from BADGER 124

Something I saw on SNS recently bothered me. I saw a little dog trying with all his might to walk, despite clear disabilities. A post from the rescue group said the little dog had responded to rehabilitation and learned to walk. One of the readers decided she wanted to adopt and went for an interview. She had another dog at home, so a trial period was offered to ensure that the two dogs were compatible. The little dog soon adjusted and the prospective adopter decided to apply to finalize the adoption.

She had been told that a full health check had been conducted. You can imagine her surprise when she found that there were NO records and that the dog had walked of its own accord – there was no rehabilitation programme! She was told that there were too many animals for them to test or rehabilitate all of them.

Is this the way we do things at ARK? I hope not. The adopter knows how we do things here and she could hardly believe how different two rescue groups can be. This group puts new posts on SNS every day, appealing to people’s sympathy, showing pitiable animals. Before you fall for something like this, please make sure you do as Anne-Marie says: go and have a good look at the facility with your own eyes.
