Canine Hepatitis

Infectious Canine Hepatitis (ICH) is caused by the virus, canine adenovirus 1 (CAV-1). The main route of infection is ingestion of urine, feces, or saliva of infected dogs.


  • High fever - over 40℃
  • diarrhea and vomiting
  • apathy and loss of appetite
  • runny eyes, coughing
  • poor digestion

Signs of infection vary from slight fever to sudden death. The mortality rate is highest in young dogs. Corneal clouding (“blue eye”) can result after recovery.
